Captain Edmund William Beech – Birmingham’s first WW1 casualty

Private Charles Alfred Dickenson who was killed near Ypres and is commemorated on the Menin Gate

Ordinary Seaman Gilbert Harold Halstead RN  who was killed on HMS Bulwark in an accidental explosion

Bombardier Nigel Keith Gleadowe Hurle of the Royal Field Artillery, killed by a rifle bullet.
